Are you ready to embrace the new colors of this season? Two of the most popular models in the Portugieser series from IWC Schaffhausen are updated in new variants: the Portugieser Automatic and the Portugieser Chronograph.

Both housed in stainless steel cases, and dials that dramatize white and blue with the recognizable railroad-style chapter ring, blue Arabic numerals, and blued Feuille hands. The Portugieser Automatic is equipped with a blue alligator leather strap and is powered by the 7-day power reserve, the IWC-manufactured 52010 caliber. The Portugieser Chronograph has a blue rubber strap and an IWC-manufactured 69355 caliber chronograph movement.

IWC Portugieser Classics

IWC's Portugieser collection usually uses a style with a distinct contrast between the dial and the subdials, affectionately referred to as ‘panda dial’ by watch lovers. Both legibility and appeal are enhanced by the use of the two colors together. Two of the Swiss luxury watchmaker's most recognizable Portugieser models are presented this season in a standard design code with contrasting white and blue dials. In juxtaposition to the ‘azurage’ finish on the deep blue subdials, the white dials have a polished lacquer surface. These classic models have a sophisticated, fresh feel thanks to the nautical colors, but they also serve as a reminder of the Portugieser's roots, as its unique design was first influenced by marine deck observation clocks.

With a case diameter of 42.3 millimeters, a white and blue dial, and blued Feuille hands, the Portugieser Automatic (Ref. IW500715) is made of stainless steel. The power reserve display is located at 3 o'clock, while the small seconds are located at 9 o'clock. The IWC 52010 caliber powers this timepiece, with almost wear-free ceramic components and an enhanced automatic Pellaton winding mechanism. The device builds up a 7-day power reserve in two barrels using even the smallest rotational movements in both directions. The sapphire case back allows for an exciting visual of the movement. This iconic and ageless Portugieser has a blue alligator leather strap with a folding clasp.

A white and blue dial, blued Feuille hands, and a 41-millimeter stainless steel case are all elements of the Portugieser Chronograph (Ref. IW371620). Small seconds are displayed on the chronograph at 6 o'clock, and the minutes counter is at 12 o'clock. Within the case, the automatic winding, 46-hour power reserve IWC 69355 caliber is in operation. Through the sapphire glass case back, one can see the chronograph movement, which has a traditional column-wheel construction. The blue rubber strap on this stylish sports watch is also strong and flexible, making it quite comfortable to wear during the summer.
