There’s Always A First Time: Frederique Constant’s Tourbillon Now With A Mother-of-Pearl Dial
In a striking harmony of technical mastery and poetic materiality, Frederique Constant presents a new expression of its Tourbillon Manufacture—this time, for the very first time, set against a dial of natural mother-of-pearl. Shimmering with soft greys and blues, the dial brings a new emotional depth to the brand’s signature complication. Housed in an elegant 39 mm case crafted from 18-carat white gold, this limited edition of just 36 individually numbered timepieces is a luminous celebration of contrast: mechanical strength paired with organic beauty.
Tourbillon and mother-of-pearl are rarely seen together, but here they coexist in effortless balance. The ethereal dial, alive with ever-changing iridescence, elevates the brilliance of the hand-applied hour-markers, the gleam of blued screws, and the open-worked tourbillon with silicon escapement. The result is a radiant showcase of horological sophistication and aesthetic refinement.
“The art of watchmaking is our passion, innovation is our mission, and the tourbillon is one of its finest interpretations,” says Romain Valette, Watchmaker at Frederique Constant.
A Dial Like No Other
This marks a first for Frederique Constant—the use of a natural mother-of-pearl dial in its Tourbillon Manufacture collection. Each dial is inherently unique, revealing subtle grey and blue undertones that shift with the light, echoing the movement’s kinetic beauty and adding a soft, almost celestial glow to the tourbillon’s rhythmic precision.
Encasing this exceptional dial is a mirror-polished, 39 mm case in 18-carat white gold, paired with a light blue alligator strap and folding clasp. The minimalistic elegance of the watch is further underscored by the discreet "Frederique Constant – Genève – Swiss Made" signature, keeping the focus on the dial’s poetic luminosity and the mechanical ballet within.
Powering this masterpiece is the FC-980 Manufacture calibre, visible from both the front and back. Equipped with a silicon escapement for resistance to magnetism and thermal variations, the movement delivers 38 hours of power reserve and is entirely hand-finished in the Geneva Manufacture—a testament to the brand’s commitment to classical Haute Horlogerie.
With only 36 pieces available worldwide, this radiant tourbillon marks a new milestone for Frederique Constant—one where innovation and artistry meet in one of the maison’s most refined creations to date.
