The LVMH Watches Division has acquired a minority stake in the Swiss movement manufacturer La Joux-Perret, renowned for its expertise in crafting some of the most sophisticated mechanical calibres in contemporary watchmaking. Alongside this investment, the two companies have established a strategic partnership aimed at expanding production and innovation capabilities across LVMH’s portfolio of watchmaking Maisons.

Over the past few years, LVMH’s watch brands have built a strong relationship with La Joux-Perret. Since 2022, TAG Heuer has collaborated with the manufacturer on the development of a Swiss-made solar quartz movement an innovation now powering the Aquaracer and TAG Heuer Formula 1 collections. The project’s success reflects the technical synergy and shared pursuit of excellence between the two houses. This collaboration has also extended to Tiffany & Co., where a movement developed with La Joux-Perret drives the Tiffany Rope watch, with further developments expected across other Maisons within the Group.

For LVMH Watches, this move signals a clear intent to strengthen its vertical integration and secure access to advanced movement-making expertise within Switzerland. Beyond ensuring supply resilience, the partnership reinforces the Group’s capability to develop proprietary movements and innovative technologies that can differentiate each Maison while maintaining the shared standard of precision and craftsmanship synonymous with LVMH. It also highlights the Group’s strategic vision to balance independence with collaboration that supports creative freedom while deepening technical foundations at the heart of Swiss horology.

The minority investment by the LVMH Watches Division which brings together Hublot, TAG Heuer, and Zenith marks a long-term commitment to deepening ties with exceptional industrial partners and reinforcing the Group’s manufacturing base in Switzerland. LVMH currently operates 16 watchmaking facilities across the country, underscoring its dedication to preserving and advancing Swiss craftsmanship.

La Joux-Perret will maintain its operational independence and continue to serve its existing and future clients with the same level of technical excellence and service. Meanwhile, Citizen Group, which owns La Joux-Perret and several watch brands, will continue to manage its portfolio independently.

Jean-Christophe Babin, CEO of LVMH Watches Division said: "We are pleased to strengthen our ties with La Joux-Perret. Their technical mastery, industrial excellence, and deep roots in the Swiss watchmaking landscape make it an ideal partner for our watchmaking Maisons. Together, we aim to lead the way in sustainable high-precision watch movements, leveraging our unmatched expertise in solar energy.”

Yoshitaka Oji, President & CEO of Citizen Watch Group, added: “We are delighted to welcome LVMH to the capital of La Joux-Perret and to celebrate the reinforcement of their commercial relationship. This strategic alliance with a key partner confirms the recognition of its expertise and opens new long-term development prospects. With this solidified partnership, La Joux-Perret will supply movements with outstanding performance and, together with the LVMH Group, contributes to the development of the Swiss watch industry.”
