If the M.A.D.2 was already a full-blown throwback to the wild, sweat-soaked nights of 1990s club culture, 2026 just turned the volume all the way up. Two new editions crash into the scene in a bold red and black palette: the M.A.D.2 R&B (Red & Black) and the M.A.D.2 REDemption, each bringing its own vibe to the dancefloor.

The New M.A.D 2 Editions

Let’s rewind for a second. When the M.A.D.2 launched in 2025 in punchy green and orange, it felt like designer Eric Giroud had bottled the energy of a DJ booth at 2am. Inspired by vinyl records and turntables, it wasn’t just a watch, it was a rhythm, a mood, a memory of endless nights spent chasing the next track.

Now, enter the M.A.D.2 R&B. Yes, it stands for Red & Black, but it also cheekily tips its hat to the genre that has always been part of club culture’s DNA. This one keeps things sleek with a midnight black dial plate and strap, while red jumping-hour and trailing-minute discs pulse like beats under neon lights. It is cool, it is confident, and it knows exactly what it is doing. Getting your hands on one still requires a bit of luck though. The raffle system is back, open for a week, with the final draw overseen by a bailiff to keep things fair and just a little bit nerve-wracking. M.A.D.2 R&B is available via raffle while the M.A.D.2 REDemption is reserved for fans who have participated in at least four M.A.D.Editions raffles but never won.

Then comes the twist in the tale. The M.A.D.2 REDemption is not just another colourway, it is a reward. Reserved exclusively for the die-hard fans who have entered at least four raffles and walked away empty-handed every single time, this piece flips the script. No more waiting, no more hoping. If you are on that list, the M.A.D.Editions team will reach out directly. The watch itself mirrors that emotional payoff with a bold red dial plate paired with black jumping-hour and trailing-minute discs. And on the back, the turntable-inspired rotor delivers a message that hits home: “They say I’m stubborn, I’d say persistent.” Fair enough.

At its core, the M.A.D.2 still wears its inspiration proudly. The raised central subdials look like a DJ’s turntables mid-set, the grooved dial echoes a spinning vinyl, and the surrounding platter draws from the legendary Technics SL-1200 Mark 2, complete with glowing Super-LumiNova stop pins. Every flick of the wrist gets that platter spinning, thanks to the automatic winding rotor that is visible from both sides. It is playful, a little hypnotic, and completely on theme.

La Joux-Perret G101 calibre

The case, a smooth 42mm blend of stainless steel and sapphire, feels like a polished pebble in hand, keeping things comfortable while the time display sits right at the centre with clean metal markers. Beneath all that flair is some serious watchmaking. The bi-directional jumping-hour module, developed by the MB&F team, is powered by the La Joux-Perret G101 calibre, ticking at 4Hz with a solid 64-hour power reserve.

Two new drops, one rooted in music, the other in loyalty, both unmistakably M.A.D. If the original was about the party, these feel like the afterparty stories you actually remember.
