Gully, the French graffiti-turned studio artist, is the second disruptive soul to take on the challenge of reinterpreting the star of the iconic Excalibur Monotourbillon timepiece. Gully's goal is to change the limits of his profession. Is that his wish? To create something that has never been seen before. The Excalibur Monotourbillon is the ideal canvas for his imagination.
THE SINGLE LINE THAT INFLUENCED A MASTERPIECE
Gully elevates the Excalibur Monotourbillon to new heights by consciously stealing the astral trademark and fusing it with his graffiti style. He adapts his trademark single-line technique on the canvas of Hyper Horology as a tribute to his very first street works. Letters resulting from his continual movement not only recreate our star but also see the artist sign the dial with his name.
The Roger Dubuis Excalibur Gully MT is encased in a 42mm Dark Grey DLC Titanium case and placed on a black calf leather strap.
Micro-structures filled with luminescent colored lacquer replace the star-shaped bridge with a skeleton dial representing the artist's signature. The watch houses an improved performance calibre RD512SQ: the tourbillon's lower carriage made of titanium gives it a 72-hours power reserve. It also has a cobalt chrome upper tourbillon carriage for a better mirror finish. Titanium and cobalt chrome are both anti-magnetic elements. Durability has been improved, thanks to the new lube. This watch is priced at AED 565,000.
