The HYT Hastroid: A Watch For The Future
"People could imagine, make, and form artefacts that may reflect the passage of time a long, long time ago, in a galaxy far, far away. These individuals were known as watchmakers. They constructed meca-fluidic clocks known as HYT Watches throughout the galaxy after reaching the pinnacle of their craft and at the crossroads of cutting-edge technology. Hastroid, which debuted in January 2022, was the progenitor to the new HYT watch fleet, which was on its way to discover new dimensions."
In a few thousand years, intergalactic travellers may come across this tract and the message it sends out to aficionados of the ancient art of watchmaking, which has evolved uninterruptedly since the Middle Ages.
The HYT Hastroid watch was not created inside the confines of the real or known worlds, despite appearances. Its origins can be traced back to the planet Earth. It was created, planned, and produced in accordance with professional standards in the heart of Switzerland's Alps.
Instruments for measuring time have been the product of human ingenuity, supported by science and formal inventiveness and design, from the dawn of time. The clepsydra, a primitive sort of clock from Ancient Egypt, was inspired by the fluidic time indicator, whose unique premise was to allow water to flow from one jar to another to measure the passage and "flow" of time.
HYT Hastroid: A futuristic watch
The Hastroid has been created and conceived to fulfil new expectations as a symbol of a fresh launch. Its 48 mm diameter casing, with a total length of 52.3 mm and a case thickness of 13.3 mm, is made of the highest-quality modern or contemporary materials: titanium, titanium and carbon, or a new alloy of stabilised bronze and carbon, a link between ancient times and future goals. The multi-layer middle case, custom-made for new adventures, features subtle openwork, while the watch's overall sandwiched construction style, waterproof to 50 metres with a central protective titanium casing for movement, provides for optimal handling of the missions entrusted to this new spacecraft.
The watch is topped with a domed sapphire crystal, which provides a largely unobstructed view of the overall dial, much like a flight deck. The fluid system, with two central "bellow" reservoirs whose design, unique to HYT inventions, accentuates the character and sense of power, and the capillary around the dial, retains the focal point of the meca-fluidic mechanism.
Large minute hand and retrograde hours
The coloured fluid inside serves to indicate the retrograde hours. The components of the manual winding mechanical movement are subtly revealed at the back of the dial or plate through openwork craftsmanship.Eric Coudray, a well-known master in the subject, invented this calibre. The movement has evolved a finer aesthetic and quality, with beautiful satin finish or laser-treated or bead-blasted parts, under his leadership and with the support of watchmaker Paul Clementy, Prix Gaa award winner, and Arnaud Faivre, head of the Tec Group.
The dial has a big centre pointed hand for immediate reading of the minutes, while the two subdials, arranged as instruments on a dashboard, provide crucial extra information: on the one hand, a small second movement, and on the other hand, the power reserve.
The Hastroid's luminosity was enhanced to make it visible even in the deepest darkest depths of space, owing to the same concern for clarity and readability. Such technical features only add to the attraction of this ground-breaking timepiece.
Only 27 pieces made
The new Hastroid comes in four different variations, each of which will be limited to only 27 copies. HYT has created specific colour ranges with new colours for the launch of the Hastroid, including an emblematic green for the contemporary watchmaking brand. The green tone of the time indications and fluid, highlighted by the rubber and embossed Alcantara band, contrasts with the black carbon and titanium casing for this model, dubbed "Green Nebula."
A brilliant designer, Davide Cerrato, takes the reins.
Davide Cerrato, renowned as a "master of neo-vintage watchmaking," has created countless spectacular pieces for well-known first-class watchmaking houses. Davide Cerrato, on the other hand, is everything but nostalgic, and the "master of vintage" among the watchmaking elite has decided to show that he can also be a forward-thinking designer.Davide Cerrato is particularly excited to be able to freely express his creative inspirations after joining HYT to drive not just style but also strategy in his dual role as CEO and creative director at the company recently acquired by KTS (Kairos Technology Switzerland SA).
HYT, the UFO of luxury watchmaking
HYT watches, also known as the UFO watchmaker, have brought a breath of fresh air to luxury watchmaking with their style and enhancements. The Hastroid, the first spacecraft of the new HYT fleet, ushers in a new era by exploring new frontiers without limits or bounds, and, as always, with the same pioneering spirit at its core. The Hastroid is a watch for the future, with no technical or stylistic limits.Today, HYT is ready for take-off and preparing to go into hyperspace mode. Are you in?
