Panerai discovered an excellent partner, an Italian equivalent who exemplifies greatness in its area, in the Luna Rossa Team, winner of the Prada Cup in last America's Cup.
Panerai's Submersible QuarantaQuattro Luna Rossa strikes a thoughtful mix between elegance and sportiness. The 44mm steel case is built to resist the rigours of ocean racing or any other strenuous activity, while the restrained design and neutral, marine-inspired colour palette of blue, white, and red adapt to casual clothing in any setting.
The brand has been creating watches since 2017 that are inspired by the America's Cup materials and technology, as well as the majestic beauty of the yachting world. The collaboration enters a new stage with the Submersible QuarantaQuattro Luna Rossa.
The Submersible QuarantaQuattro Luna Rossa is a diver's essential companion, prepared for extended exposure to the extreme pressures of the underwater world, thanks to its innovative crown protection device, rubberized crown, and rotating unidirectional bezel. The functions are completed by an enhanced date window at 3 o'clock and a small seconds subdial. Panerai's calibre P.900, an autonomously winding movement with a three-day power reserve, drives them.
With the tiniest movement, light scatters across the sun-brushed blue dial, giving it a stunning gloss, while white Super-LumiNovaTM embedded within metallic appliques provides the glow of the dots, markers, and hands. The team name is prominently displayed on the dial, emphasising the link between the Luna Rossa and the attractive timepiece.
The Panerai Submersible QuarantaQuattro Luna Rossa is water-resistant to 30 bar (approximately 300 metres), with a dark blue bi-material strap highlighted with the red and white Luna Rossa logo and a second strap in the same ocean-inspired colour and made of recycled rubber. A tool kit is also included, which allows the straps to be interchanged, as well as a screwdriver for removing the buckle.
The 1,500-piece limited-edition collection will be sold at Panerai shops and online at panerai.com.
