World’s Greatest Olympian, Michael Phelps Unveils Omega Timepieces With The World’s First Movement

Olympic legend Michael Phelps was on hand in Los Angeles for the launch of OMEGA's most complex caliber and two watches befitting its power, a project that took six years to complete.

In two exceptional timepieces, this state-of-the-art caliber serves as the heartbeat. The limited edition Olympic 1932 Chrono Chime from OMEGA connects the brand's 1892 invention of the minute repeater timepiece to the pocket chronographs that served as official timekeepers during the 1932 Summer Olympics in Los Angeles.

The OMEGA Speedmaster Chrono Chime is a timeless timepiece in a traditional 45 mm case size. OMEGA chose the Walt Disney Concert Hall for its unveiling because of its stellar reputation as an acoustically superior location, perfect for its visually stunning and sonically impressive timepieces.

The LA Memorial Coliseum, the site of the Los Angeles 1932 Olympic Games, hosted a special Chrono Chime luncheon following the formal launch of OMEGA's ringing homage. Aerobatic drone displays and symbolic Olympic torch-lighting were part of the evening's festivities.
