Three Days of Style, Craft And Community: A Look Back At India Watch Weekend Collector’s Edit
India Watch Weekend Collector’s Edit unfolded like a three-day celebration of style, curiosity and craftsmanship, beginning with a burst of sixties-inspired glamour and ending on an elegant, high-spirited note that left guests already looking forward to the main event. Held between 28-30th November, at Jio World Plaza soon evolved into a lively blend of watchmaking, fashion, storytelling, discovery and the unmistakable joy of being surrounded by people who truly love watches.

The opening afternoon set the tone beautifully. The Tea Lounge shimmered with bouffant hair, bold eyeliner, playful prints and the signature sparkle of Piaget, as over forty women walked in dressed to theme, each looking like she had stepped out of a vintage magazine cover. It created the perfect setting for the brand’s new Sixtie collection, and at the centre of all the nostalgia was an easy, charming conversation featuring Piaget’s friend of the brand Mira Kapoor and Karishma Karer, Co-Founder of The Hour Markers. Their chat, steered with remarkable warmth by moderator Avanne Dubash, felt as lively as the room itself.
The Conversation That Set the Mood
Piaget watches displayed around the lounge gleamed under soft lighting, catching every glance like tiny disco balls behaving exactly as they should. Mira took everyone straight into her own watch world, speaking about her love for pieces that move seamlessly from Indian wear to western outfits. “Soon after we got married, my husband gifted me a watch on my birthday. It still holds a sentimental place in my heart. But when I began my own wellness business, I bought myself a watch to commemorate the occasion,” she shared.
That blend of sentiment and independence felt perfectly in tune with the spirit of the sixties. Karishma, with her signature sparkle, highlighted Piaget’s flair for extravagance the cuff watches, the sautoirs, the unapologetic drama that made the Maison such a beloved symbol of the era. “Every watch wants to be the star of the outfit,” she said, and the room collectively agreed. It was a fitting conclusion to a day that floated between nostalgia, glamour and heartfelt storytelling.
Day Two opened with a completely different energy: lighter, brighter and buzzing with horological curiosity. Panerai’s watchmaking sessions became one of the most visited corners of the event as guests leaned over benches to explore tiny gears and intricately polished components. There was something almost meditative about watching them dive into the art of assembly. Bollywood actor Jim Sarbh joined in too, quickly turning into the unofficial face of curiosity as he asked questions, peered closely into movements and infused the space with a dose of cinematic charm.
Inside Jio World Plaza, each boutique added its own twist to the afternoon. Panerai’s affogato cart delighted everyone, especially when paired with a quick quiz on the Maison’s history. Hermes welcomed guests who had picked up new purchases with a strap customisation counter where colours and textures became part of the storytelling. Over at IWC, the Formula 1 simulators turned into an unexpected hit, drawing laughter, mock victories and an irresistible rush of adrenaline that somehow fit perfectly into the world of watches.
Haute Couture Meets Haute Horlogerie
From there, the event slipped into full fashion fantasy as JJ Valaya and Jaeger-LeCoultre hosted a styling session themed around festive glamour. With velvet sherwanis, corset sarees and contemporary wedding looks laid out alongside rows of Reversos, the room felt like couture and horology had quietly decided to collaborate. Stylist Priyanka Castelino kept the energy warm and playful as she guided guests through colour pairings and accessories. “For a man, a watch is one of the most eye-catching accessories he can wear. For women, if you’re wearing a heavily embellished lehenga, you can do a lovely ring stack with a watch on one hand and a finely detailed hathphool on the other. I like to call it minimalistically maximal.”
Aispi then added its own dose of creativity with its Golden Hour pop-up which was a curated mix of sparkly bags, on-trend apparel and lifestyle pieces displayed with collector-like precision. Their panel discussion with RedBar members and collectors Mohit Chuganee and Ashin Kothari became a charming reminder that every watch collection begins with intention.
One audience member shared his personal story of looking for a GMT with two Indian cities- Mumbai and Kolkatta. "I wanted these two cities on a GMT dial as I am from Mumbai and my wife is from Kolkatta. It took me a long time but I finally found a Tissot that had both these cities on the dial. I was ecstatic when I could add this to my collection,” he shared. What was even more surprising was when another audience member shared that he too was looking for a GMT which had the same cities on the dial but vice versa. He was from Kolkatta and his wife was from Mumbai. A delightful coincidence if you ask us!
As the sun dipped, Cartier brought the day to a decadent close with a cocktail evening that blended laughter, storytelling and the deep sense of camaraderie that watch enthusiasts love. It was warm, indulgent and the perfect transition into the final day.
Inside the Panerai Watchmaking Experience
Day Three arrived with the kind of anticipation that only finales have. Guests came in buzzing, ready to soak in every last moment. Panerai’s watchmaking session returned, giving guests one more hands-on experience and offering fresh appreciation for the mechanical world beneath each dial. Certificates were handed out, cameras clicked and conversations flowed effortlessly.
Inside the boutiques, excitement built around Bulgari’s special watch viewing created exclusively for the weekend. Guests gathered around the display, appreciating the craftsmanship, the design details and the unusual opportunity to see such pieces in an intimate setting. Soon after, the Plaza transformed into a menswear-meets-horology playground with the Panerai and Canali styling session led by stylist Antara Motiwala. With four sharply curated looks, she demonstrated how the right watch enhances the attitude of an outfit. The Radiomir found its match in a classic formal suit, while the Submersible aligned naturally with sporty styling. The Luminor paired beautifully with a relaxed casual ensemble, and the Luminor Due brought festive brown tones to life with understated elegance. “Always have your leather goods matching. If your watch strap is brown, your belt and shoes should be the same colour. And this season’s trending mocha mousse is fantastic for Indian menswear,” Antara advised.
Grand Seiko introduced an unexpected moment of calm with its Serenity High Tea and origami corner. Guests explored exquisite watches and then slowed down to fold delicate paper cranes and flowers inspired by Japanese artistry. It was a gentle, almost meditative pause a reminder of the brand’s philosophy of patience, precision and natural beauty.
A Warm Whisky Toast to Close the Weekend
As the final hours approached, The Dram Club invited guests into the warm world of whisky tasting. The session walked everyone through three simple steps- look, smell and taste opening up layers of flavour shaped by cask, region and craft. It was playful, educational and the perfect wind-down to an event that had been packed with discovery.
With glasses set down and conversations lingering, India Watch Weekend Collector’s Edit wrapped up with a feeling that something truly special had taken place. Across three days, the event celebrated community, creativity, craftsmanship and the joy of collecting. And while the weekend came to a close, the excitement certainly didn’t. India Watch Weekend returns on 17 and 18 January 2026 and if this year was anything to go by, watch lovers will not want to miss it.
