The Seiko Presage Collection has been celebrated by the watch fraternity at all times. The Presage Sharp Edged Series, which debuted just two years ago, has quickly established itself in the world of fine watches for its unique blend of classic mechanical watchmaking and a decidedly modern Japanese aesthetic. For 2022, the line will expand with five new watches, each of which highlights a different component of Seiko’s mechanical watchmaking and offers a unique viewpoint on Japanese culture. One is a limited-edition GMT, two have an open-heart calibre, and two have a multi-hand dial with power reserve, day, and date indications.
The dials of these new additions, like the dials of all the other watches in this series, include the Asanoha, or hemp leaf, pattern, which has been utilise in Japanese fabrics since the Heian period over a thousand years ago. Because of its sturdy and fast-growing nature, the Asanoha plant has traditionally been consider as a sign of health and vitality in Japan, which explains its long-lasting popularity.
A Limited-Edition GMT
The nature of the Sharp Edged Series design is perfectly match to the Caliber 6R64 GMT. The time of day, GMT function, power reserve. The rich texture of the dial is enhance by the depth of its colour, a blue that Ukiyoe artists have made famous in depictions of Mt Fuji in peak summer throughout the decades. A New Open-Heart Caliber And A First For The Series
