Tricompax Baltic x Peter Auto: Honoring The Pioneering Years Of Motor Racing
Peter Auto is a go-to source for information about historic motor racing. Patrick Peter's crew puts on some of Europe's and France's most spectacular events. Their events are the pinnacle for any automobile lover since they feature the world's top drivers in the most stunning vehicles ever created.
They are proud to introduce the Tricompax Baltic x Peter Auto Limited Edition. On August 26 at 4 pm (Paris time) or 7:30 pm IST, you can purchase one of 300 individually numbered copies of their first three-counter chronograph, which was designed in collaboration with Peter Auto.
MODELED AFTER THE PIONEER YEARS OF MOTOR RACING
The Tricompax is a timepiece that bridges the gap between the past and present, drawing inspiration from the heyday of motor racing. Greatest legends and exciting racers have worn the three-counter chronograph since the 1960s.
Motorsport is acknowledged via several design details, including a tachymeter scale bezel capable of measuring speeds up to 200 km/h and a combination of two hues that call to mind the fierceness of the competition. The minute and second hands are orange, while the hour and its hand are yellow.
A SWISS MOVEMENT WITH A POWER RESERVE OF 63 HOURS
For them, the start of this chronograph marks a new and crucial era. The Sellita SW-510M, a Swiss hand-wound mechanical movement, was specifically chosen for this watch because it embodies the spirit of their chronograph. This complex movement is renowned for its superior quality and reliability and has a power reserve of over 60 hours.
PAIR OF FLYBACK STOPWATCHES
Once an essential tool for any racer or team member, stopwatches play a vital part in every race weekend, measuring and comparing lap times on the track or unique stage times in rallying.
These two chronographs take their cue from the Tricompax and are great for sports thanks to their "flyback" feature. This additional complexity is great for auto races since it permits the reset and the beginning of a new count to occur at the same time.
A BRACELET CONSTRUCTED OF FLAT LINKS, MODERNIZED FROM THE 1970S
They went for a retro-styled metal band from the 1970s to complement the watch's sporty, retro vibe. This flat link's fine and flexible links let it conform precisely to the wrist, and the polished and brushed finish gives it a sophisticated yet sporty look.
It is the perfect attachment to get into the spirit of race weekends, being easily adjustable thanks to its many separate links and micro-adjustments, and being simple to connect and detach from the watch.
A BOX SPECIALLY DESIGNED FOR THE COLLABORATION
This project with Peter Auto is more than simply a watch; it's the realization of their shared dream of bringing together the worlds of auto racing and fine watchmaking. Gentlemen drivers come for the experience, which must be one of a kind, as much as they do for the chance to win or gain fame. This was the kind of thing they hoped to provide.
Here, the Tricompax is paired with accoutrements that call to mind motorsport. CarBone Liveries provides an anodized aluminium plate on which to mount the two stopwatches, making it easy to incorporate them into your dashboard. The taupe calfskin strap is interchangeable with the flat link strap, for which an adjustment screwdriver is included.
All the watches are hand assembled, adjusted, and tested in France, near Besançon, by professional and experienced watchmakers. The special edition Tricompax Baltic x Peter Auto will be online on baltic-watches.com on August 18th at 4 pm (Paris time) and put on sale on August 26th at 4 pm at the price of 1975€ (without VAT), limited to 300 units.
