The Hour Markers once again brought together watch lovers for a memorable evening, this time in the vibrant city of Bengaluru. Staying true to our mission of uniting passionate horology enthusiasts, this event was much more than just a showcase of Frederique Constant’s iconic timepieces; it was a celebration with Helios and the watch community in all its diversity.

With a reputation for curating bespoke events, The Hour Markers took pride in gathering not one, but 4-5 different watch communities under one roof. These enthusiasts came together, to celebrate the collective love for the art of watchmaking. This evening was a testament to the ever-growing bond that exists among Indian watch aficionados.

Curated by our very own founders, Karishma Karer & Punit Mehta, the event began with the spotlight on none other than Williams Besse, International Sales Director who took center stage to delve into the heritage and journey of Frederique Constant. Following the insightful presentation, the energy in the room shifted into a more interactive, fun phase. A panel of renowned watch collectors was called upon to engage in an open and lively discussion. These collectors, with their distinct styles and preferences, shared their thoughts on Frederique Constant's offerings and watchmaking trends in general. The conversation flowed effortlessly, highlighting how this event was not just about the timepieces but about the broader love for horology.

When we asked watch enthusiast Captain Joe Mathew what he would love to see from Frederique Constant, his response was refreshingly straightforward: "A Worldtimer that adjusts to the Indian timezone." His request highlighted a practical yet significant feature many Indian collectors have on their wish lists—personalized functionality for local time.

Meanwhile, Dr. Sunil Kini, a passionate collector, spoke about the deeper value of watch communities. He emphasized how the brotherhood within these circles has expanded his understanding of horology, helping him make more informed decisions when adding to his collection. "It's not just about the watches," he explained. "It's about how these communities help you grow as a collector."

On the other hand, Vikram Doshi offered some insightful thoughts about his approach to collecting. He shared, “To begin with, always buy watches that fit right.” For him, comfort and the perfect fit are paramount, underscoring the importance of practicality when starting or growing a collection.

Rounding off the evening, our very own Punit Mehta, who is also the founder of RedBar India, added a personal touch to the conversation. He revealed how his buying decisions are driven largely by emotion rather than logic. "I'm an emotional buyer," Punit admitted, with a smile that resonated with many in the room. His statement was a reminder that, for many collectors, watches are not just instruments of time—they're extensions of personal experiences and sentimental value.
