Geneva Watch Days 2025 launched its sixth edition with record participation, featuring 66 brands and showcasing several key industry trends that defined the opening day. The event demonstrated a dynamic mix of maisons and independents, showcasing craft, innovation and collaborations shaping the future of watchmaking. Day one revealed notable patterns emerging across the industry: the rise of cross-sector collaborations between watchmaking and other design disciplines, increased experimentation with alternative luxury materials including laboratory-grown gemstones, and a continued fascination with reimagining vintage aesthetics through contemporary technical capabilities. This year's lineup includes heavy hitters alongside microbrands, introducing something entirely new to the horological landscape. The opening day established Geneva Watch Days as a platform where traditional haute horlogerie meets accessible innovation, with brands increasingly focusing on storytelling, sustainability, and partnerships that extend beyond conventional watchmaking boundaries.
