The story of the Oris New York Harbor Limited Edition II is one that exemplifies beauty, purpose and collective action. Created in partnership with the Billion Oyster Project, the watch is more than just a timepiece it’s a symbol of hope for the waters of New York.

The Oris Aquis Date in turquoise

The watch itself is based on the Aquis Date and arrives with a striking aqua green dial shimmering with a mother-of-pearl, oyster-shell effect. Measuring 43.5mm in diameter and 13.1mm in thickness, the stainless steel case features Oris’s signature negative-relief bezel and a solid engraved caseback displaying the individual number out of the 2,000 limited pieces. A steel bracelet comes standard, complemented by an additional aqua-colored rubber strap with a deployant buckle. Inside ticks the reliable Oris Caliber 733, based on the Sellita SW200, ensuring robust timekeeping at depths of up to 30 bar (300 meters).

This release follows up on the original 41.5mm New York Harbor edition, but upsizes the experience both in presence and purpose. With proceeds directed towards reef building, shell collection, and educational outreach, every purchase directly fuels the Billion Oyster Project’s mission. That mission is as ambitious as it is inspiring: restoring one billion oysters to New York Harbor by 2035. These efforts don’t just revive marine ecosystems, but also connect local schools and communities to conservation, creating a living classroom of change. Progress is already visible, with more than 150 million oysters restored so far.

Oris’s co-CEO Rolf Studer captures the spirit perfectly: “The ecological challenge can feel overwhelming. But when we work together, it gets easier. We’re proud to collaborate again with Billion Oyster Project and to witness firsthand the change we’re bringing together. Our mission continues.”

This sense of mission isn’t new for Oris. The brand became climate neutral in 2021 with independent certification, followed by a 2022 pledge to reduce emissions by 10% annually for three years a goal already achieved. As a luxury brand creating products that people love but don’t necessarily need, Oris sees sustainability as a responsibility, not a choice. Supporting projects like Billion Oyster is one way of giving back in meaningful, measurable ways.

It’s easy to feel that conservation is beyond us the numbers are daunting, the decline too fast. But Oris reminds us that change isn’t about individuals working alone. It’s about collective action, where every decision adds up. The New York Harbor Limited Edition II is proof that beauty and responsibility can coexist, and that together, we can make a difference that lasts generations.
